Dr Carolin Otto
screenwriter and director, President of the Federation of Screenwriters in Europe (FSE)
Carolin Otto has been a scriptwriter and director since 1995. She studied documentary film and scriptwriting at the Munich Film Academy (HFF) and received her doctorate (PHD) at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. She worked as a scriptwriter for several popular series, and is currently working on a mini-series for ZDF on domestic violence. She was author, director and producer of the feature films Aphrodite's Night and The White Raven. From 2007 to 2015 she was a member of the VDD board of directors, from 2009 to 2013 head of the FFA's screenplay promotion commission, since 2013 member of the FSE board of directors and since 2019 FSE president. FSE (Federation of screenwriters of Europe) - represents about 9,000 screenwriters as an umbrella organisation in Brussels through its more than 20 member associations.
